Australian universities for study

October 8, 2008

Today Australian universities and institutions are educating and looking after over 50,000 international students. From India alone, there is a commencement of 25,000 students gone to study abroad in Australia this year, which is near about a growth of 50 percent, as compare to the figures during the commencement last year.

Study in Australia has its own academic and performance base standards, which are regularly audited every five years by Australian University Quality Assurance (AUQA).This is an independent, non-profit national agency. The audit reports can be viewed by the general public on websites.

Australia is a unique country, which maintains a comprehensive national legislation governing the quality and delivery of education to international students. The Education Services For Overseas Students (ESOS) Act protects students from fraudulent education providers and ensures courses to complete the highest standards of education.

Also, Australia permits work for international students, rendering international studies more affordable and even more enriching. Students can work 20 hours per week during working days and around the clock during vacations. Students who are doing their masters or doctorate courses under subclass 574 are allowed to work for unlimited hours a week.
